We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, whether you are a VPC member or guest. As an American Canoe Association (ACA) Paddle America Club (PAC), we collect and share information with the ACA to remain a PAC in good standing. This information includes our active member roster and personal information appearing on the liability waivers submitted and signed by participants in ACA sanctioned events. Aside from the ACA, as described above, we will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill a request, e.g. to answer a question, ship an order, etc.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about new services or changes to this privacy policy.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. Along with intending to use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only club members or their assigns who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, issuing a refund or editing a member profile) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The shared hosting computers/servers where we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Members-only Content

In order to use portions of this website or take advantage of members-only discounts, a visitor must first join the VPC. During registration visitors must provide certain information (such as name, age, and billing information, email address, phone number and home address). This information is used to contact you about the services and activities featured on our site in which you have expressed interest. At your option, you may also provide demographic information (such as gender) about yourself, but it is not required. A member roster will be available on this site, visible only to active members.

Registrations and Signups

We may request information from you on an order form or event signup. We use PayPal to bill member dues. To the best of our knowledge PayPal does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes beyond filling your order. To purchase a membership, you must provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill your order. If we have trouble processing an order, we'll use this information to contact you.

Subscriptions

PayPal will renew your annual VPC membership automatically as a "subscription". You may cancel your annual membership subscription at any time by going on PayPal.

We use "cookies" on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor's hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site.
